歌詞の原稿は今のところ見つかっていないがジョンがケンウッドにもどる途中で
この曲の歌詞を彫りこんだとされる木片が2007年にオークションに出品された。
木片には全編にマハリシの名前が記されSexy Sadieはいっさい出てこない。

最初の歌詞の紙の原稿は残っていない。
紙に書かれた原稿ではなく木片に彫られた歌詞が残っている。
この木片は2007年にオークションに出品された。
ジョンは紙とペンを持っていなかったのだろうか。たまたま木片があったのだろうか。
ジョンは怒りが大きかったのだろうか。
だから怒りに任せて木片に歌詞を彫りこんだのだろうか。
木片に字の大きさを揃えて丁寧に彫りこんでいる。
とても時間がかかったはずだ。帰りの車か飛行機の中で彫ったのか。
この木片があったためにSexy Sadieの改題される前の歌詞がわかった。
もともとはSexy SadieはMaharishiだった。

この木片に掘られた歌詞が最初の歌詞
最初に「the private mind of John Lennon」と彫ってある
White Albumに収録されたヴァージョンの歌詞と比べてみると
MaharishiがSexy Sadieとなっている。
heがsheに変わっている。
Sexy Sadieの設定は女性だということがわかる。
他は全く変更がない。全く同じだ。
インドを去る時に曲が出来てその後歌詞も変更なく最初から完成していた。
